Abstract
Life Beyond Diagnosis
This article discusses the effect of mental illness upon an individual. Mental illness can be as debilitating & life-threatening as physical illness because it affects life’s basics: self-confidence, daily functioning, relationships & work. Some people think of, or threaten, suicide. The stories of some Albertans who have been diagnosed with a mental illness are interspersed throughout the article.
