This presentation to a 1995 National Suicide Prevention Workshop convened by Health Canada notes that healing for First Nations youth & all people, is a personal & a community responsibility. To the end, it is important to remain open to all forms of healing & to answers in both traditional & modern beliefs in medicine & mental health. The author recounts a discussion with a youth in Northen Ontario as a call for help that goes beyond preaching, scolding, & pleading as well as call for change.
