This article addresses the evolution of debriefing-type psychological interventions for trauma victims & the debriefing process itself. Three environment-specific debriefing team designs are reviewed: 1) in-house traumatic events; 2) contract traumatic event debriefing; & 3) humanitarian-civic traumatic events. The unique qualifications of social workers to develop & lead these teams are discussed. (27 refs.)
