A majority of the 112 Manitoba physicians who responded to a 1995 survey by the Manitoba Association for Rights and Liberties support assisted suicide for terminally ill patients who are in great pain. Respondents also said that doctors who do assist in a suicide should not face criminal charges. However, concerns have been raised about the validity of the survey results because of the small number of respondents & the way that some terms were defined.
