This article notes the euthanasia/assisted suicide battle pits those who say they are protecting a right to life against those who are demanding a right to choose. A parallel is drawn to the abortion debate. The position of organized medicine in a few USA states, the Oregon law, other rulings, & court challenges are discussed. A “schism” by age in the medical profession is noted. It is suggested that the issue is going to be settled more by legislatures than courts, or by public referendum.
