In an exploratory study, information was obtained on death education in paramedic programs. A self-administered survey was sent to all 537 USA paramedic training programs. The method of instruction, educational supplements, assessment techniques & integration of death education into general course work was examined. 51% of the surveys could be analyzed. 95% of programs offer death education with legal-ethical topics being most often included. Instruction was most often in a lecture format.
