Antipsychotic Medication and Suicide Risk Among Schizophrenic and Paranoid Inpatients: a Controlled Retrospective Study

This article reports on a retrospective analysis of the psychotropic medication, illness history & mental symptoms of 28 schizophrenic or paranoid inpatientswho had commited suicide & 28 matched control subjects in Finland. The groups were compared for every variable & the 6 statistically most significant variables in paired comparisons were then entered into a stepwise linear logistic regression model. Four statistically significant differences between the groups were found. (34 Refs.)
