This article focuses on gender dynamics relevant to psychotherapy with suicidal adults. Specifically, it reviews the literature on the relationships between gender & (a) the epidemiology of suicidal ideation & behaviours, (b) the reasons for suicidal behaviours, & (c) the initiation & goals of psychological treatment for the suicidal individual.
