This study examined family interactions & personality factors of 10 adolescents who completed suicide. Each of the 10 families provided perceptions about the behaviour of the adolescent at different ages. Family separation was experienced by 7 of the adolescents; in the other 3 cases, the father was noticeably absent in all areas of the child’s life even when physically present. Social isolation, sensitivity, perfectionism & inflexibility were other traits reported by parents.
