Fournier argues that, especially in the light of the issue of “rational suicide”, scientific research alone is not sufficient to address the challenge of suicide prevention. He states that spirituality is the missing ingredient for holistic understanding & prevention. Spirituality is presented as a primary facilitator for forming & maintaining overall well-being &, as such, potentially the most effective dimension for countering the right to suicide movement.
