The author was the chair of a group which presented information on therapist response to patient suicide. Discussion included things such as: how a patient suicide creates a crisis in the personal & professional life of the therapist; the need for more suicide education during therapist training; & common responses to patient suicide, e.g. questions about competence. A second part of the worksop was devoted to a handout which discussed “things to do” before & after suicide patient suicide.
