This chapter by a gay survivor tells of childhood sexual abuse which started at puberty with other teenage males & involved glue sniffing, male prostitution, drugs & alcohol. A suicide attempt occurred in less than 3 years, & was followed by repeated attempts. He turned to a 12-step program & has dealt with issues of loss, anger, self-image, & discovered he is not a bad person but “a victim of my own desire to love and be loved.” He lost a partner to AIDS & has been diagnosed with AIDS.
