This report details a study of domestic homicides in Canada involving firearms. It included a literature review, an examination of trends since 1975, & a survey of police officers involved in the investigation of each homicide involving a firearm during 1989 & 1990. Case information was gathered on 93 of 102 incidents. Detailed profiles of victims, the accused, circumstances are provided. Historical data suggest that domestic homicides with firearms is a declining social problem.
