Legal problems may often be associated with other stressors that could lead to suicidal risk. Lawyers may be the first person to become aware of their client’s “at risk” status. This pamphlet provides general guidelines for providing appropriate intervention & describes observable risk factors, eg, previous suicide attempts, talk of suicide, signs of depression, self-destructive behaviour, pre-occupation with themes of death, death or loss of a loved one, &, dramatic changes in behaviour.
