Issues pertinent to social work with lesbian & gay adolescents are examined in the context of 3 main social settings: the family, the social culture, & the educational setting. Suggestions are made for improving interventions by social work professionals with this population, including increasing personal awareness of one’s own bias, education about homosexuality, establishing positive social support programs, advocating sanctions, &, positive role models.
