The objective of this survey was to measure & document the opinions, perceptions & attitudes that Saskatchewan residents have on the issue of suicide. 500 residents were surveyed by telephone in January 1994. Approximately 1/3 of those surveyed knew that suicide is 1 of the top 3 causes of death of people under the age of 25 in Saskatchewan. The majority felt that suicide is an important issue not adequately addressed by the government. Almost 1/2 of residents have been affected by suicide.
