This article outlines a strategy that makes undergraduate college students active participants rather than passive spectators in the learning process. The first section outlines the pedagogical procedure as a spiral of repeated steps in gathering data & constructing visual models describing the grief process. The second section describes 4 representative models developed by students: the grief toilet, the grief boat, the grief roller coaster & the grief octapus.
