The purpose of this chapter is to examine the medico-legal dimensions of suicide as they impact on the practitioner from a series of viewpoints, including a brief introduction to some legal theoretical issues that are relevant to some cases, practical discussions of how suicide litigation actually works, and broadly relevant approaches to liability prevention or risk management.
