This article provides principles & guidelines to manage work-site trauma & to develop protocols & policies as preparation for a potential traumatic event in the workplace. It notes that two-thirds of people attempting suicide had workplace problems. Canadian rates of suicide are compared to rates in Britain, Japan, and Italy. Data are provided for Alberta work-related fatalities. A case example describes the suicide of 43-year-old male & workplace postvention.
