This book details manifestations of adolescent depression, describes families’ common pathways through the pain of the suicide, & offers guidelines for recognizing & working with suicidal youth. It presents the psychological profiles of 8 severely depressed adolescents who either attempted or died by suicide. The author found that the teenager’s distress was often missed by those around them because they didn’t know what to look for, what questions to ask, or how to respond effectively.
