The issue of AIDS and suicide is discussed. The question of why Americans who are HIV positive have a suicide rate which is 20 times higher than the general public is addressed. Other issues dealt with are: the timing of suicide after being diagnosed with HIV; the effect of the virus on serotonin levels; and the need for additional research.
