This article is based on the World Suicide Prevention Gathering’s, Canada 1993 meeting. 15 participants from different cultural and geographic regions delivered papers on the problem of suicide and the provision of supportive rehabilitative services to persons at risk and to other affected persons in their countries, with a special focus on regional and national efforts to establish national policy guidelines for the prevention of suicide.
