This article is an edited transcript of a Morning Conference in Haematology-Oncology at Duke University Medical Center. The article deals with the case history of a man with cancer. Four arguments in favour of physician assisted suicide are discussed, along with rebuttals. Other issues dealt with are: patient self determination, power of attorney, desire for a natural death, and what are doctors supposed to do ethically.
