This article addresses the need for clergy to be better informed about the assessment of suicide lethality. It provides a quick reference guide to assist clergy in assessing the risk factors of suicide with guidelines for interventions. Clergy are increasingly being confronted by situations involving potential suicide risk that require expert crisis intervention skills. Specific, concrete guidelines for clergy confronted with these situations are provided. (50 refs.)
