This article looks at the issue of art therapy and the grieving process. Specifically, the author looks at research which applies art therapy to grieving women experiencing perinatal loss, and the increase in desire to self-express during periods of mourning. The author notes that an individual who is grieving and working through a loss through art expression needs a responsible witness and guide to illuminate the process. (28 refs.)
