The implementation of a school postvention policy is described. The realities of implementing such a program, including verification of the death, mobilization of a crises team, notification of staff & students, & identification of those at high-risk are discussed. Emphasis is placed on the formation & maintenance of natural groups to facilitate student involvement during the crisis. The authors view this process by interfacing a group life cyle model with a description of the grief process.
