This paper looks at epidemiological data on suicide behaviour in people infected with HIV. The data suggest suicidal acts are not more frequent in HIV/AIDS subjects as compared to HIV seronegative persons showing the same “at risk” behaviours. In HIV/AIDS persons committing suicide, the risk was found to be highest during the months immediately following the diagnosis of HIV infection or AIDS.
