In this letter to the editor, the authors question why a previous review by Montgomery et al (see SIEC #920749) failed to mention the use of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) as a treatment for suicidal behaviours. The present authors discuss the efficacy & safety of ECT in the treatment of depressed patients with suicidal ideation & behaviour. (3 refs.)
