In this chapter the author seeks to answer the question: “What are the limits of confidentiality in a psychoterapeutic relationship?” The author does this by reviewing the suicide of Anne Sexton and her psychiatrists subsequent release of taped therapy sessions to her biographer. The issue is then looked at as to the degree this case can be influential presently. (3 refs.)
