The issue of illegacy and legacy of suicide are dealt with in reference to a study done on suicide within the New York city police department from 1934-40. The author reviews this group and the factors that contributed to the increased suicide rate. The impact on the families of these police officers who committed suicide is also dealt with. (20 refs.)
