The focus of this chapter is to present issues that highlight the complexity and multi-faceted aspects of suicidal behaviour in children. It will identify issues that are important to suicidal children and issues that are observable among suicidal children. Finallly, this chapter suggests that differences in characteristics of suicidal behaviour are derived from the phase of development. (37 refs.)
