Abstract
Suicidal Behavior in Borderline Patients: Diagnosis and Psychotherapeutic Considerations
Kernberg O F
The differential diagnosis of chronic suicidal & parasuicidal behaviour in borderline patients is reviewed. Essential psychodynamics of these behaviours are explored, especially the psychopathology of unconscious hatred. The psychotherapy centers on the transformation of this hatred into aggressive transference patterns & their working through protected by a firm treatment structure. (3 refs.)
