Terry Adler described the work of the Sal’i’shan Institute of Mental Health in B.C. an organization that trains Aboriginal health workers such as CHRs and NNACAP workers. Suicidal people, Adler explained, are those who have used up their adaptability to life. There are ways of addressing the problem, but health workers need to know what to do within themselves to be able help people.
