This theory deals with the sociological perspectives of suicide, with emphasis on Durkheim’s theory of suicide. The chapter review: definitions, concepts, and theories of suicide; followed by: the demographics of suicide (questions of who and why are dealt with), and concluding with a consideration of the socioreligious implications of the suicide rate.
