Testing the Limits: Special Treatment Procedures for Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization

This article deals with managment of child & adolescent partial hospitalization patients whose behaviour & level of impulsivity have excalated to the point where they require special programs. Special treatment procedures for dealing with patients displaying aggressive, acting-out behaviours, noncompliance with program rules, suicidal or runaway ideation, & drug usage, are described. Treatment programs must address the issue of safety & involve family & community.
