This chapter discusses the relationship between communication & ideation, & considerations preliminary to prediction. It reviews the literature & research on suicide notes & reports on the development of the Thematic Guide for Suicide Prediction (TGSP). This measure provides an inferential guide to suicidal ideation for assessment or evaluation of the spoken or written words of an individual. It consists of 8 separate subscales.
