Using the definition that suicide is the intentional ending of one’s own life, this chapter discusses the fatality of suicide, the reflexivity of suicide, the fact that the agency of suicide can be either active or passive, & the issue of intentionality. The general nature of definitions & situations that present problem cases are also discussed.
