Lethality of Self-Destructive Methods: Establishing the Extent of Accurate Conception in an At-Risk Population
Crisanti A~~Tanney B
This presentation reported on a survey study of 561 at-risk college age youth. Findings: the low baseline & large variance among the conception of lethality scores, suggests that conception of lethality may be a valuable discriminator for identifying who is at risk of future deliberate self-harm (DSH) &, more specifically, future DSH which is more likely to be fatal. The study should be regarded as being exploratory & investigative with the purpose of bringing a new focus to an unexplored issue.
