This report examines the impact of resources (social support & self-esteem) on depression among 197 suddenly bereaved survivors of suicide & accidental death. A structural equation model, ordinary least squares regression model & generalized least squares regressions model were used. Findings indicate the relationship between self-esteem & depression is reciprocal, & suggest a causal loop in which low self-esteem leads to greater depression which, in turn, further lowers self-esteem.
