This presentation notes that professors & student-service personnel can potentially avert the incidence of suicide on college campuses by detecting at-risk students. It reports on a study to evaluate the effects of a suicide prevention training program. Subjects were 33 faculty members & 20 student-service personnel from the University of South Dakota. Study results indicate that a 90-minute program can be effective in increasing recognition of signs of suicide lethality.
