This report presents preliminary findings from an ongoing psychological autopsy study. The authors conducted the study to describe the psychopathology & behavior of elderly suicide victims &, by comparing & contrasting them with younger age cohorts, define their distinguishing features. It was found that older suicide victims are more often suffering from a depressive illness & are less often psychotic. They also have a higher level of suicidal intent than younger victims.
