Cassel discusses the public support physician aid-in-dying when patients are terminally ill & what this means to the medical profession. She says that physicians should at least ask themselves what this continuing public debate means to their patients. Cassel says that the medical profession should also ask itself if the public insistence on aid-in-dying indicates other failings in the care of dying patients. (4 refs.)
