The aim of this chapter is to clarify the notion of deliberate death with particular focus on euthanasia. Having read the chapter, you should be aware of the distinctions that are sometimes drawn between active and passive euthanasia, have formulated a perspective on the ethical tenability of these distinctions; and in general terms be able to present and defend a posistion on the subject of deliberate death.
