This book presents the proceedings of a national symposium on injury control in Canada. A set of 4 recommendations was prepared to strengthen injury prevention & control at national, provincial & local levels. Participants were placed in 1 of 5 working groups: home & community; occupational health & safety; violent & abusive behaviour; sport & recreation; & transportation. With respect to suicide & self-inflicted injuries, the stated objective is to reduce the incidence of these behaviours.
