The relationships between means-ends problem solving & suicidality among adult male inmates were examined. Using the Means-End Problem-Solving Procedure with 93 inmates, it was found that among inmates with a history of parasuicide, current suicidality did not affect problem-solving performance. Results of the study raise questions about the potentially unique relationships among suicidality, problem solving, depression, & hopelessness in incarcerated populations. (19 refs.)
