The reviewer found that this book on the prediction & assessment of suicide, “provides an excellent update on empirical findings & theory in suicidology”. Hankoff states that the individual authors have avoided using their “pet theories & one-liners”, except on the topic of youth suicide where the dramatic descriptor “epidemic proportions” is used & “an unfounded approach to prevention in a school-based program” is offered. Overall, “the editors have achieved a well-knit work”.
