This study looks at the Biblical characters who died by suicide & the attitude towards suicide conveyed in the Bible. The number of suicides ranges from 3 to 11, depending on the inclusion of the Apocrypha, the definition of suicide adopted & the version of the death accepted when there is more than 1 account. The Bible treats suicide in a factual way & not as wrong or shameful. (13 refs.)
