The risk of suicide attempts & suicidal ideation was examined in 4 groups of migraine patients. It was found that persons with migraine with aura alone & migraine with aura & coexisting major depression had significantly higher rates of suicide attempts & ideation. The rates of suicide attempts & ideation in persons with migraine with aura & major depression were higher than the combined rates in person with major depression alone & migraine with aura alone.
