The process of using a videotape interview for adult survivors of child sexual abuse is described. This process entails the survivor deciding to make the tape with the help of the therapist, watching the tape & then showing the tape to both potential therapeutic team members & the abuser. Possible adverse effects, such as suicidal thinking, are noted. Two case histories of women with persistent suicidal ideation are used as illustration of the procedure. (36 refs.)
