This article presents a psychometric investigation of the 8-factor clinical model of the Suicide Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) as representing the most appropriate interpretive model for the SOQ. Factor-analytic & internal consistency reliability results failed to support the hypothesized 8-factor model. An alternative factor scheme & suggestions for future research on the SOQ are discussed.
